These truly are troubling times. Over the past few years, we have witnessed a resurgence in anti-Semitic violence, intimidation and rhetoric, a dramatic rise in global terror, military, economic and political attacks against the Jewish state, increasing levels of Holocaust denial, and a host of anti-Israel, anti-Semitic resolutions coming out of United Nations organizations.
While these threats continue, Jews must also confront the growing popularity of far-right nationalistic political parties and leaders around the world and the ongoing efforts by hatemongers to spread anti-Semitism online and poison young, impressionable minds.
With just one week until we begin a new year, I pledge to stand in solidarity with Jews around the world to do everything I can to ensure peace and security for Jews in 2017. And that is why I will continue stand with the World Jewish Congress. With allies on the ground in over 100 countries on six continents, no other organization is better equipped to protect and defend Jews during these perilous times than the World Jewish Congress.
